industry professionals at the forefront of this rapidly growing field. In spring 2021, Miami Law became the first U.S. law school to offer a week-long, full course in the emerging area of Sneaker Law. The course, provided through the school's LL.M.
in Entertainment, Arts, and Sports Law, covered various aspects of the $90 billion sneaker industry, including intellectual property law, sports law, and labor law.
Building on the success of this innovative course, the EASL program launched the first-ever "The Art of the Sneaker Deal" case study competition and conference in 2022, in collaboration with Sneaker Law .
The annual case study competition invites law schools from across the nation to represent artists, designers, and brands on issues such as IP protection of sneakers, rights of publicity, licensing deals, and collaboration agreements.
