In a shocking turn of events, Toronto police seized nearly $2 million worth of allegedly counterfeit merchandise from an Etobicoke clothing store, called "Brands Gone Wild." Customers who have recently made purchases at the store may want to double-check the tags on their items, as the police have discovered fake Nike, Calvin Klein, Puma, and Tommy Hilfiger products.
As first reported by, Cp24 live action news, the investigation began in early February when authorities received a tip about potential fraud at a
business located near Kipling Avenue and The Queensway. On February 1, 2023, officers executed a search warrant at Brands Gone Wild, situated at 1255 The Queensway. They found counterfeit clothing brands within the store, with the total value of the seized goods amounting to $1,885,150.
As a result of the investigation, Toronto residents Frank Monte, 64, and Michael Guerriero, 45, were arrested and charged with fraud over $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime, and pass off description of wares. Both suspects are scheduled to appear in an Ontario courtroom on May 15.
