Poskmark appoints Ebony Beckwith, Chief Philanthropy Officer at Salesforce and CEO of the Salesforce Foundation, to Poshmark’s board of directors. Ebony brings over two decades of experience in technology, operations and philanthropy.
At Salesforce, she’s responsible for the company’s philanthropic investment strategy and leads Salesforce’s community response to pressing issues, including co-leading a task force committed to racial equality and justice. Ebony also has a strong connection to the brand — she is an
avid Posher and has been a part of the Poshmark community since 2014. We asked Ebony a few questions about why she’s joining our board, here’s what she had to say: Q: What drew you to joining Poshmark’s board of directors? A: I’ve been a loyal Posher since 2014 so I’ve experienced firsthand how special this community is.
I love that there’s a strong emphasis on sharing and community building. Even the most successful Poshers take the time to be part of the community. And that’s because they recognize the value to both their business and their relationships with other Poshers.
I also admire what Manish has built, alongside an incredible team and board. I believe in their vision and could not be more excited to define the future of shopping together. Q: A majority of Poshmark users are women. How do you see Poshmark supporting women’s empowerment and economic opportunity more broadly?
A: I read a recent report that women’s participation in the workforce is the lowest it’s been in 30 years, which is really scary to think about. COVID placed extraordinary demands on women, particularly mothers, and what they need most is flexibility. This is a huge opportunity for Poshmark. Women…
