Louis Vuitton has partnered with the prestigious auction house Sotheby's for an extraordinary charity auction. This collaboration aims to raise funds for various charities and NGOs chosen by the participating artists.
The auction will feature 22 exclusive Louis Vuitton Artycapucines bags, which are unique reinterpretations of the brand's iconic Capucines bag. These bags have been designed by contemporary artists such as Daniel Buren, Sam Falls, Urs Fischer, Gregor Hildebrandt, Donna Huanca, Huang Yuxing, Alex
Israel, Liu Wei, Peter Marino, Beatriz Milhazes, Vik Muniz, Jean-Michel Othoniel, Park Seo-Bo, Paola Pivi, Ugo Rondinone, Tschabalala Self, Josh Smith, Jonas Wood, Kennedy Yanko, Zeng Fanzhi, and Zhao Zhao.
Each of these one-of-a-kind bags will be presented in a monogram-laden Louis Vuitton Boîte Chapeau (hat box) signed by the respective artist. The bags themselves will also feature the artists' signatures under the flap, adding to their exclusivity and value.
The Capucines bag , first introduced in 2013, is named after Rue Neuve-des-Capucines, the street where Louis Vuitton opened its first-ever storefront in 1854.
Made from full-grain Taurillon leather, the Capucines bag is now considered one of the brand's most revered creations, available in various styles such as hand, shoulder, and cross-body bags. The Louis Vuitton and Sotheby's Artycapucines auction will be open for online bidding between June 28 and July 12 on Sotheby's website…
