Temu, an online shopping megastore, has been the subject of much debate regarding its legitimacy. The platform offers various products ranging from car accessories and clothing to electronics and outdoor furniture.
Despite its vast product range and affordable prices, Temu has received mixed reviews from customers and industry watchdogs alike. The Better Business Bureau (BBB), a non-profit organization that sets standards for ethical business behavior, has not accredited Temu. This lack of accreditation is due to
the company's failure to meet certain standards such as building trust, advertising honestly, being responsive, and embodying integrity. Furthermore, Temu has received an average rating of two out of five stars on the BBB website, indicating dissatisfaction among some customers.
Many complaints lodged against Temu revolve around late or non-existent deliveries. Some customers have reported that their orders took weeks or even months, while others claim their items never arrived or arrived broken.
A first-time shopper noted that while some of their items arrived broken, it was easy and fast to communicate with Temu customer service chat to have the broken item resent within minutes, giving the customer no time to complain, and at least solved their problem.
