Fast fashion e-retailer Shein has recently partnered with the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) to launch a scholarship program and design course for students.
This collaboration, known as the SHEIN X Project Launchpad, aims to provide aspiring designers with the necessary tools and support to succeed in the fashion industry. Through this partnership, 12 talented students were selected based on their academic performance, portfolio, resume, instructor recommendations, and a short video
submission. Each of these students will receive a $40,000 scholarship provided by Shein, along with the opportunity to participate in a new 20-week design course. The curriculum is divided into two parts: the first half focuses on market research and design development, while the second half centers on fit and production.
Upon completion of the course, the students will create a 5-10 piece collection that will be sold on Shein's platform as part of the company's designer incubator program, SHEIN X. The participants will earn commissions from the sales and maintain ownership of their creations.
This initiative not only helps the students financially but als SHEIN Partners With Fashion Institute of Design o provides them with valuable insights into the production and manufacturing process within the fashion industry.
FIDM , an internationally recognized college with over 70,000 alumni, is excited about this collaboration…
